Accused Fox River Mall sexual assault suspect Jamie Sames
GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Minnesota man is charged in the alleged sexual assault of a teen last week at the Fox River Mall. Detective Mike Veile with the Grand Chute PD says 35-year-old Jamie Sames is picked up Tuesday after a tip came in from someone who recognized him from surveillance video taken from the Target store. The Shakopee man was interviewed by Grand Chute detectives and is being held in Minnesota. Online court records show Sames is charged with second degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement-sexual contact in Outagamie County.
Last week, a suspect allegedly impersonated an Appleton police officer and accused the 13-year-old victim of shoplifting. He then ordered her friend to stay put on a bench, took the victim to a remote area and attacked her. Veile says they're working on the criminal complaint, then they will start the process of extraditing the man back to Wisconsin. Police say Sames could appear in Outagamie County Court as early as Friday.
