LA CROSSE, Wis. (WTAQ) - An 88-year-old La Crosse area man can still yodel with the best-of-‘em. Gordon Hoffman of Onalaska won an impromptu yodeling contest at Milwaukee’s German fest last weekend.
He drove to Milwaukee to see his favorite German band, Alpensterne and he certainly didn’t expect to be in a contest. But when the organizers set up a last minute event, Hoffman was ready.
He said he learned to yodel watching Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. And at age 10, he said his father put him on a stage in Tomah to show off his yodeling skills.
