OSHKOSH, Wis. (WTAQ) - An Obama cabinet member and the crew of a Canadian reality show are among those attending the EAA’s Air-Venture in Oshkosh. US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was there to announce a new program to root out suspicious activity in the skies.
TV and radio ads and a public education campaign will be rolled out in the next few months, with the goal of getting crews and passengers to report more threats to air terrorism.
The Canadian reality show that’s at the EAA is called “Ice Pilots NWT.” It features those who still fly DC Three aircraft to send supplies to cold and remote areas of Canada’s Northwest Territories, England, Australia, and New Zealand.
The 75th anniversary of the DC Three is being saluted at the EAA event, which runs through Sunday.
