Public Hears About GB Schools Proposed Budget Cuts
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - The public gets their shot to sound off and learn about the proposed $6.1 million in cuts for the 2010-11 budget. Monday night there's a meeting at the District Office to discuss the budget plan.
40 items are included in seeing cuts. Recommendations were made by system budget teams, which had representation of all employee groups. The administrative budget team weighed the viability of the recommendations and finalized the list.
“School districts across that state have been cutting for years,” said Greg Maass, superintendent of schools and learning. “Until the school revenue formula changes, these cuts will continue indefinitely at the same level.”
