Mea culpa day at OTA's

Thursday June 10, 2010 Posted 2 months, 4 weeks ago by Mark Daniels

Apologies were the order of the day as the Packers were wrapping up week three of their organized team activities.   Defensive back Brandon Underwood did not field questions but said he was sorry for creating a distraction over last weekend's incident in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.  Underwood was accused of sexual assault by two Milwaukee women at the Wilderness Resort during a golf outing hosted by Clay Matthews.  Authorities continue to investigate the claim and a final charging decision is expected soon from the Sauk County District Attorney's office.

Underwood wasn't the only one apologizing.  Aaron Rodgers backtracked on pointed comments he made recently.    Hear both Underwood, Rodgers and comments from head coach Mike McCarthy on the audio link below.

As for the camp itself, McCarthy is finishing up the final two installations for the off-season program.  They involve game specific situations and personel groupings for both offense and defense.  He said it will be a lot to handle for the first year players over the final three practices next week.

McCarthy revealed both Nick Barnett and Donald Driver had off-season arthroscopic surgery and that's why they haven't participated in any of the workouts.  Both had some "clean-up" work done on their knees.   Driver has been able to do some individual drills. Both should be ready for training camp.

The Packer's training camp schedule was released Wednesday.  The first workout is set for Saturday, July 31 in full pads.  Once again this summer, McCarthy has scheduled a 2-1-2 format of practices with Wednesday's off.  The team will work twice on alternating days during the first two weeks.  The Bellin Health Family night scrimmage is set for Saturday, August 9 at 6:30 PM.  Tickets are $10.00 each. The final practice open to the railbirds will be on Tuesday, August 31, two days before the pre-season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
